Red Ball – 3 to 7 years old

 

The modified equipment is tailored specifically to kids aged between three and seven years of age. The smaller rackets will assist with the child’s technique, ie low to high swing patterns, low compression red balls for more consistent contact, smaller court and racket size which make success in tennis more manageable

Your Child Will Learn To

  • Contact the ball on one bounce
  • Hit with a circular low to high swing on their ground strokes
  • Serve with consistency
  • Perform a volley and overhead
  • Rally with regular success
    Improve their general athletic capabilities
  • Operate within a team environment
  • Basic understanding of the point scoring system in tennis
  • Develop an appreciation for sport of tennis

Characteristics

  • 30 minute in duration
  • Maximum of 4 students in lesson
  • Held at Yallambie Tennis Club, Lower Plenty, and Viewbank Primary School
  • Held every weeknight from 3.30pm to 7pm, and on Saturday mornings.
  • Coaching Term in conjunction with Victorian School Term
  • A free 19 or 21 inch racket on enrollment
  • A fun and encouraging program with regular rewards and prizes
  • Takes approximately 12 to 18 months to complete all stages depending on how many lessons each week, age, and ability of your child
  • The next progression in Mini Tennis Orange Ball.
